Abstract

Polyethylene is made by contacting ethylene with a p -allylic compound of zirconium or hafnium. A hydrocarbon inert solvent in which the allylic compound and ethylene are soluble may be present. Specified allylic compounds are zirconium tetrakis (p -allyl) and tetrakis (p -allyl) hafnium.
