Abstract
Pyromellitic dianhydride is made by vapour phase catalytic oxidation of a tetraalkylbenzene (e.g. durene) and condensing the exit gas at a cooling rate of 10-10,000 DEG F/sec., so as to give a particle size above 1 micron.
