Abstract

1,112,686. Labels; container closures. JOHN DICKINSON & CO. Ltd. 8 June, 1966 [12 March, 1965], No. 10639/65. Headings B8F and B8T. A label 13 coated with a non-drying adhesive, is partly covered with a backing strip 16 to form a peripheral band of adhesive 17, which is secured to a rim 12 of an open end of a tin 10. The labels 13 are formed from laminated webs of label strip 14 and backing strip 16, the former strip being cut at (18), (Fig. 2, not shown) to define an individual label 13 and the latter being cut at (19) to define the area of the backing strip 16 which is to cover the open end of the tin 10.
