Abstract

A medicament intended for use as a gastro-intestinal composition consists of a mixture of polyvinylpyrrolidone, aluminium hydroxide and a bismuth salt, e.g. bismuth sub-nitrate. The proportion of each component may vary from 10-80% by weight. The medicaments, which are administered orally, may be in the form of a powder or tablet for dissolving in water, a lozenge or a suspension in water.
