Abstract

1,104,459. Apparatus for gas liquid. chromotography. HONEYWELL CONTROLS Ltd. 16 Nov., 1966 [30 Sept., 1965], No.4.1485/65. Heading G4H. Apparatus for use in gas liquid chromatography includes means for integrating an electrical signal having a main peak and a subsidiary peak (Fig. 2) and means for generating timing signals when the electrical signal passes X through pre-set magnitudes X, and Y = -, to 2 cause read-out of the integrator means. In the embodiment described the timing signals are generated by comparing the electrical input signal on terminal 1 (Fig. 1) with a reference signal X from an adjustable tapping 6 on a resistor 5 in a first comparator 4 and with a X reference signal - from the centre tapping 9 2 of a potentiometer 8 in a second comparator 3. The output from the comparators control pulse generators 10, 12 so that timing pulses are applied on leads 14, 15 to the integrator circuit which is as described in Specification 1,007,114 to cause read-out when the input drops through the pre-set values. Consequently values representing the areas A, B, C, D (Fig. 2) are read out to a printer, the area of the subsidiary peak being represented by C + D - B.
