Abstract

A solid disinfectant composition comprises trichlorocyanuric acid and/or one of its salts in a suitable vehicle which is inert to the acid, and enclosed in or covered with a water-soluble seal to prevent volatilization and/or decomposition of the disinfectant before use. The vehicle is preferably p-dichlorobenzene, naphthalene or a metallic gel such as one or more hydrocarbons or chlorinated hydrocarbons gelled with a stearate of aluminium, zinc or magnesium. Preferably, the tablet is enclosed in a sachet made of a water-soluble polyvinyl alcohol film.
