[Also in Divisions B8 and H1] A sheet metal casing is formed from a blank, Fig. 1, which is formed into a tube of rectangular cross-section, the edges at one end of the tube being formed with inwardly-directed flanges which are cranked to define channelshaped portions, these flanges being reinforced at the corners of the tube by brackets, Fig. 6, of which portions 13 engage the channel-shaped portions of the flanges. The brackets may be held either by friction or by welding.
