Abstract

A polymer comprising units of formula <FORM:1101502/C3/1> is prepared by reacting a vinyl pyrrolidone-maleic anhydride copolymer with the 3-amino-phenyl hydrazone of N-ethyl-2-benzthiazolone in solution in a mixture of acetic acid and dimethyl formamide. Polymers of formula <FORM:1101502/C3/2> <FORM:1101502/C3/3> are prepared similarly.ALSO:2 - Ethyl - 2 - benzthiazolone - b - n - octadecyl sulphonyl hydrazone is prepared by reacting N-ethylbenzthiazolone hydrazone with octadecyl sulphonyl chloride in the presence of pyridine, in a solution in acetonitrile.
