Abstract
110,016. Bound, A. F., and Rowland, W. Oct. 4, 1916. Addition to 101,073. Track apparatus for stopping trains.-The brake valve which is resettable from the cab of the locomotive as described in the parent Specification is re-set by power-operated means. As shown in Fig. 1, the lever 4 is connected to a piston-rod connected to a diaphragm in the casing 10. One side of the diaphragm is always open to atmosphere and the other is normally so, but when the valve is to be re-set, this side is connected through the valve 26 to the vacuum reservoir 14. At the same time, the valve 26 connects the train pipe 15 to atmosphere, through the non-return valve 16, so as to vent the brake pipe during the time the valve 26 is in the position for re-setting the trip lever and prevent mis-use of the re-setting devices.
