Brake mechanism.- In a brake for cycles comprising a helical spring expanding into contact with a drum 7, the operating-lever 16 may be locked in the brake-applied position for preventing theft of the cycle, the bolt of the lock passing through holes 19 in the lever and in a fixed bracket 18.
