Abstract
1,098,520. Thermocouples. LEEDS & NORTHRUP CO. Nov. 5, 1965, No. 47089/65. Addition to 992,874. Heading H1K. The Specification discloses expendable immersion thermocouples which are modifications of those disclosed in Specification 992,874. The cup portion of the device of Figure 4 of that Specification instead of having integral side wall and bottom is defined either by the cardboard sheath itself and a transverse plastic wall fitted therein or by a plastic cylinder defining the side walls (and fitting within the sheath) and a separate transverse wall fitted therein. The units may be varied as in Figure 5 of Specification 992,874 by having a separate portion carrying the thermocouple leads and forming a connecting plug spaced some distance along the sheath from the cup.
