Abstract

The invention comprises N1-[6-hydroxypyrimidinyl - (4)] - sulphanilamide; pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof with suitable strong acids or strong bases; and their preparation by treating N1-[6-methoxy-pyrimidinyl-(4)]-sulphanilamide with a mineral acid and, if desired, converting the product into a pharmaceutically acceptable salt with a suitable strong acid or strong base. Pharmaceutical compositions having anti-bacterial activity, for enteral or parenteral administration, comprise a compound of the invention together with a compatible pharmaceutical carrier.
