Abstract

A separating disc to be mounted in the interior of a centrifuge bowl is made of nonmetallic material having a modulus of elasticity in tension of not greater than 1,000 Kg/mm2, a number of projections being provided on one surface of the disc so that when a number of such discs are assembled in the centrifuge bowl they are spaced from one another by these projections. The disc may be made of polyethylene, polyvinyl chloride, textile, glass laminates and resins. It may, for example, be formed from plastics material by injection-moulding, the spacing projections being simultaneously formed with the remainder of the disc. The shape of the disc may be frustoconical.
