Abstract
1.097,668. Walking doll. R. GARDEL and E. GORSKY. Nov. 22, 1966 [Dec. 3, 1965], No. 52179/66. Heading A6S. A doll has a pivot connection between each leg and the body, said pivot being disposed forward of the centre of gravity of the upright leg and supporting each leg independently, so that when a leg is lifted clear of a supporting surface, by rocking the doll to one side, the leg swings forward under gravity, until stopped by limiting means. The limiting means comprise a projection 16. on the end of each leg, received partly within an opening 14 in the body with a peripheral groove 18 of diameter smaller than the diameter of the body opening, the edges of which are accommodated in the groove. The projection 16 may have a second groove 22 intersecting the first groove 18 at an acute angle and adapted to receive and pass a peripheral edge portion of the doll's body next to the opening, to facilitate insertion of the projection into the opening. The pivot connection may comprise a projecting element 27 and corresponding opening 28, and the body and legs be made of material having a resiliency permitting flexion to allow the projecting element to disengage the opening 28 when the leg is forcibly rotated.
