Abstract

The invention comprises (a) 4-propargyloxyazoxybenzene, (b) 1 - phenylthio - 4 - propargyloxybenzene, and (c) 1 - benzyloxy - 4 - propargyloxybenzene, and processes for making them by respectively reacting (a) 4-hydroxyazobenzene with a propargyl halide, followed by oxidation of the resultant 4-propargyloxyazobenzen; (b) 4-hydroxydiphenyl sulphide with a propargyl halide; and (c) 4-propargyloxyphenol with a benzyl halide.ALSO:Pesticidal (especially acaricidal) compositions contain as active ingredient at least one of:- 4-propargyloxyazoxybenzene, 1-phenylthio-4-propargyloxybenzene and 1m-benzyloxy-4-propargyloxybenzene.
