[Also in Division F2] In a drive for rotating a diffraction grating of a monochromator, a driven member, consisting of a part-cylindrical shell 3 having end pieces 4, is rotatably mounted on pivot pins 5 and carries a sector-shaped member 9 having an arcuate periphery 10 which engages a V-shaped groove 11 in a rectilinearly movable driving member 12, and clamping means are provided for urging the surfaces of the driving and driven members into contact without imparting a reaction thrust to the pivot pins 5. The clamping means comprise a plate 18 and springs 19. In order to provide a non-linear relationship into part of the operating range of the drive, a corrector 21 may be interposed between driving members 12 and 16. The corrector 21 comprises a wedge portion 21a, flat portion 21b and flanged portion 21c carried by parallel linkage bars 22.
