Abstract
109,585. Symons, E. B. Sept. 6, 1916. Disk and like mills.-Relates to delivery arrangements for mills, such as are described in Specification 109,464, having two relatively inclined disks rotating in unison. (1) The crushed material passes from the discharging- throat between the disks E<8>, H<2> into an annular pocket formed at the sides by the housing J<5> and a wall J and at the bottom by a number of steep shoots J<1> leading to discharge-shoots J<4>. In the arrangement shown, four shoots J<1> leading to two discharge-shoots J<4> are provided. Adjacent shoots J<1> may meet at the top at an angle J<2>, Fig. 2, or may be joined at the top by a flat J<2x>, Fig. 2. The housing may be provided adjacent to the flats with doors and may also be provided with detachable wearing- parts J<6>. (2). The angle rings F<5> F'‹ for preventing dust from entering the bearings are supplemented by an annular plate F<12> which almost touches the ring F<10>. The plate F<12> may be secured to the bolts F<2> on the rotary head D. The sleeves G on the bolts induce above and below the plate F<12> outward currents of air which aid in discharging the dust.
