Abstract
1,095,585. Hose damps. K. E. L. BERGSTROM. July 5, 1966, No. 30122/66. Heading E2B. A hose clamp comprises a metal strip 2 bent to annular shape with the end portions of the strip overlapping, the radially outer end portion 7 of the strip being provided in its external side with transverse grooves 8 for meshing with the threads of a headed worm which is rotatably journaled but not axially slideable relative to a sleeve enclosing the threaded portion of the worm and the radially inner strip end portion 5 which is secured to the sleeve bottom 6, the sleeve having a space permitting the outer strip end portion to move between the inner strip end portion and the worm by rotating the latter, the strip being of generally channel section with the side walls of the channel connected to the base by rounded corners and the part of the sleeve in which the strip end portions are received being also of generally channel section with the side walls of the channel again connected to the base by rounded corners. The strip end portion 5 has a recess which engages a shoulder 12 projecting upwardly from the sleeve bottom 6 to secure the step end portion 5 to the sleeve.
