Abstract

1,092,430. Bee keeping appliances. TRENDON Ltd. Aug. 10, 1966 [July 28, 1965], No. 32195/65. Heading A1M. A frame for supporting comb foundation comprises a pair of: rectangular membershinged together at their upper edges and adapted to be folded together to support a comb foundation, the members being held in the folded position by means of protruberances 11 on one member which engage in holes in the other member. The frame is moulded from synthetic plastics material the two members being joined at their tops 1 by a narrow portion A. Alternatively the members may be hinged together by a strip or strips of material welded or secured to their top bars 1. An upper and lower abutment 8 are formed on the outer face of each side bar 3 of the members so that a number of frames may be evenly spaced in a hive. Abutments 9 engage the walls of a hive and prevent longitudinal movement of the frames.
