A ventilation unit for an enclosure such as a cupboard or a room comprises an annular filter 8 located outside the enclosure and a centrifugal fan located inside the enclosure. A plate 5 secures the unit to the wall 7 of the enclosure and is rigidly secured to a sleeve 3 to which is fixed the fan motor 12 and a filter cover 9. The sleeve 3 may house a starting capacitor 11 if an A.C. fan motor is used.
