Abstract
1,091,183. Electric selective signalling. LICENTIA PATENT - VERWALTUNGSG.m.b.H. Jan. 29, 1965 [Jan. 29, 1964], No. 4014/65. Heading G4H. A plurality of coded discs with tracks corresponding to a binary-coded decimal scale each has an additional coded check track. In all but the first denomination the check track comprises a parity bit. In order that the resolution of the check track in the first denomination is greater than the smallest bit a modified check parity track is arranged in which if the smallest bit is a 0 an odd parity bit is produced and in all other places the check digit of the adjacent smaller digit is produced and the result inverted by a logic circuit. This result corresponds to the combination of two check codes in which the second, in which an odd parity bit is produced when the smallest bit is a 1 and in all other places the check digit of the adjacent higher digit is produced, is the inverse of the first check code. The first two discs are mounted on a common shaft and the latter discs are connected thereto by 10 : 1 gearings. The discs are scanned by lead-lag scanners in V-formation except in the highest position of each disc and the change-over of scanners is determined by the previous track or in the case of the finest track of all but the first disc is determined at the change-over of the previous decimal value 5 or 3 as in Specification 1,022,891. The discs may be scanned photoelectrically or inductively.
