Lawn-mowers.-A lawn-mowing machine comprises a single front mower unit which carries a sulky-type frame, and two rear units united by and carrying a trailer frame, which is flexibly, and detachably connected to the sulky-frame. The front mower unit, which is of usual construction, is carried on ground wheels 1 and supports the sulky-frame by two posts 9 forked at their lower ends to straddle the cross-rod 5 near the wheels. The shafts 7 are secured to a crossbeam 8 constituting the main part of the sulkyframe and provided with a socket 17 for the flexible post 16 of the operator's seat. The rear units support by forked central posts 21 the trailer frame, which comprises a cross-beam 20 and a central tongue 19. Forked guide-posts at each side of the central posts 21 relieve these posts of any twisting strain. The forward end of the tongue 19 carries a connexion-piece 28, which is provided with a hole to take a hook 18 at the rear of the sulky-frame. This connexion between the front and the rear parts of the machine permits free movement of either relatively to the other. An extra socket is provided on the tongue-piece 19 for the seat post 16 when the rear mowers are in use. The cutters, which are normally pressed against the ground by springs, are adapted to he lifted bv latch and segment levers which operate rock-shafts carrying arms connected by links with the rear portion of the cutter frames. The front mower unit may be used alone, or the trailer frame may be attached and the machine used as a gang-mower.
