A protective bead for fixing to the edge of dry-walling sheets, comprises tongues 4 which are bent outwards from the surface of the bead and have their tips set back so that they are directed towards but are clear of the inner surface of the bead. In use the tongues are driven into the sheet to fix the bead thereto.
