[Also in Division F4] An electrical heater unit 5 is movably mounted on a framework for insertion into and removal out of an aperture in an end loading wall of a substantially horizontally - mounted rotary drum drier. The unit comprises a trough-like reflector 8 about quartz-tube infra-red heating elements 11 having a deflector plate 12 thereon to prevent material settling on the reflector which confines heat to a relatively narrow region along the drum.
