Abstract

A method of producing a variety of different milk products comprises the steps of dividing up whole milk, which may have been pasteurised, into components of various compositions, keeping each component in one or more storage tanks, and, when producing a particular product, taking predetermined quantities of the components from the storage tanks, mixing them, possibly together with further additives, and transferring them to treatment equipment suited to the particular product. The components may be pasteurised or sterilised either before being introduced into the storage tanks or after withdrawing therefrom.
