Abstract

1,088,638. Coating apparatus. BOXFOLDIA Ltd. March 21, 1966 [April 1, 1965; July 21, 1965], Nos. 13789/65 and 30927/65. Heading B2L. In a method of, and apparatus for, adhesively securing carton forming blanks wherein the adhesive is only to be applied at front and rear spaced apart portions of the blank, Figs. 1 and 2 (not shown), in the direction of advancement thereof, the blank is advanced past a pair of guide members 42, 44a, so arranged one on each side of the glue wheel 35 that when the blank bridges both members it is out of engagement with the wheel, but when it is in contact with one member only, Figs. 5, 7 (not shown), the blank contacts the glue wheel so that adhesive is applied. A light spring 46 or a spring loaded roller urges the blank towards the wheel. In a modification the two guide members are connected together as a V- shaped member. Figs. 8-11 (not shown) and pivotally mounted.
