Abstract

The invention comprises compounds of formula <FORM:1088397/C2/1> wherein R1 is tertiary alkyl, R2 is alkyl or alkoxy, R3 is halogen, alkyl or alkoxy, n is 0-3, A is S or O, R4 and R5 are (optionally halogenated) hydrocarbyl or R4 is H, R6 is furfuryl, (optionally halogenated) hydrocarbyl or oxa-alkyl, or may be (only when A is O) H or hydroxylated hydrocarbyl. These compounds are prepared by reacting the precursor in which A-R6 in the formula is replaced by a halogen atom, with H-A-R6.ALSO:Herbicidal compounds have the formula <FORM:1088397/A5-A6/1> wherein R1 is tertiaryalkyl, R2 is alkyl or alkoxy, R3 is halogen, alkyl or alkoxy, n is 0-3, A is S or O, R4 and R5 are (optionally halogenated) hydrocarbyl or R4 is H, R6 is furfuryl, (optionally halogenated) hydrocarbyl or oxaalkyl, or may be (only when A is O) H or hydroxylated hydrocarbyl. The compounds may be formulated as solid or liquid concentrates, solutions, dispersions, suspensions, and compositions with finely-divided solids including wettable powders and dusts. Ammonium nitrate, urea, superphosphate, compost manure, humus and sand may also be present.
