1,087,632. Unwinding bobbins. ASSOCIATED ELECTRICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd. Dec. 17, 1964 [Jan. 23, 1964], No. 2986/64. Heading D1J. The brushes 27 prevent the turns on reel 5 about to be unwound from dropping downwardly if unwinding of the filamentary material 23 is temporarily stopped. The supports 25, for the brushes, can be rotated about their vertical axes and the guide ring 29 can be removed therefrom to permit the operator to remove an empty reel and replace it with a full reel. The reel 5 may have its axis vertical or horizontal and may be static or rotatable.
