In an excess current protective arrangement of the type described in Specification 1,085,466, for use in a connecting link between two A.C. power networks, the saturable reactor associated with the capacitive reactance is pre-magnetized by current flowing in the link so that an excess current causes immediate saturation of the reactor to render the protective arrangement effective without delay.
