Abstract
108.529. Schroeder, G. Aug. 10, 1916. Cores, yokes, and carcase structures.-The stator core-laminae 2 are attached to the frame 1 either by means of projections formed integrally with the laminae, Fig. 2, or by means of keys 13, Fig. 4, said projections or keys being secured in comparatively wide slots 3 in the frame by easily fusible metal, cement, concrete, or the like 11. The slots 3 may be lined with sheet metal bent or pressed into shape and secured in the frame by fusible metal, cement, &c. One or both parts of the keys 13 may be rectangular. The core may be assembled in the frame 1 for the casting operation by the use of a mandrel 5, end plates 6, and bolts 7, the mandrel being centred by means of brackets 9 which are registered to machined facings 10 on the frame 1. A gap 12, Fig. 2, between the core and the frame obviates the necessity of machining the inside periphery of the frame. The invention may be applied to rotors, the cores being fixed to the spider &c. in the above described manner.
