Abstract

1,084,593. Marker buoys; moorings. J. H. LERBS, [trading as JOH. HINRICH LERBS]. June 4, 1965 [Oct. 3, 1964], No. 24046/65. Headings B7A and B7S. [Also in Division F4] A marker buoy for use day or night has a float with a removable signalling device and a cable leading to a ground weight. The night signalling device (Fig. 1) comprises a hollow rod 4 inserted into the float and secured by a transparent retaining nut 6, the rod carrying a bulb 7, containing batteries 10, and having a heavy nut 12 which stabilizes the buoy and contains the switch gear 18. The night signalling device may be replaced by a day signalling device (Fig. 2) comprising a rod 23 inserted into the float and secured by a nut 26, the rod carrying a flagstaff 24 and a stabilizing weight 28. The bottom end of the float is sealed by a screw cap 19 to which is attached a cable leading to the ground weight (Fig. 3), comprising a can 30 half full of cement 31 containing a loop 33 to which the cable 34 is attached. The can includes a magazine 36 for the cable.
