A hair-drier helmet 1 has a frusto-conical tubular wall 3, the bottom part of which carries an internal trough-shaped flange 4 to return the air flow F along a direction f for drying the back and sides of the hair. The trough comprises an annular member of concave cross section which is secured within the tubular wall at a short distance from its bottom edge. Axially spaced ribs 5 may be provided on the wall, each having at least one recess or slot to receive the outer edge of the annular trough. The helmet may be of integrally moulded construction, with the ribs either moulded in situ or attached afterwards; the trough is suitably of moulded thermoplastic material. Alternatively, the trough may be glued, screwed or rivetted directly to the wall.
