Abstract

In distributing coating material on an inside wall of a hollow container, a measured amount of coating material is deposited on to a disc and relative movement is caused between the container and the disc whilst the disc is rotated at a speed sufficient to centrifuge the coating material from the disc as a spray substantially in the plane of the disc, the relative movement between the container and the disc being in such a direction and over such a length as to coat the desired area of said wall with the coating material by means of the spray. A single disc may be used for a cylindrical container and a plurality of spaced discs may be used for a rectangular container. The coating material is preferably fed at a predetermined rate and control means are provided to ensure that the material is only deposited on the disc when it is rotating. Switch means and timing devices may also be used to control the duration of application of the coating material.
