Abstract

Masonry, mortar or plaster are made water repellent by treatment with an isocyanate R-N=CO, R being aliphatic C8- 22 or its reaction product with ethylene imine. The compound, as a solution in water, gasoline or a chlorinated hydrocarbon, can be applied as a coating to a finished structure, or it may be added as an aqueous emulsion to the mortar or plaster mixture.ALSO:Masonry, mortar or plaster structures are made water repellent by coating with an aqueous emulsion of an isocyanate RNCO, R being C8-22 aliphatic, or its reaction product with ethylene imine.
