Abstract

A stop motion for a warp machine comprises a slotted elongated box (7), Figs 2 and 4, not shown, placed beneath the warp and adapted to direct a stream of air through the slot (16) upwardly to impinge on the warp and deflect any loosely tensioned or broken thread into the path of a collinated infra-red light beam (10) whereby a light sensitive detector is responsive to the interference of the beam to cause a warning device to be actuated or the machine to be stopped. The slot may be increased or decreased in width by adjusting the position of the sides of the box.
