Abstract

Before synthetic yarns which have spin-finish applied to them are heated in a texturing-e.g. false-twist crimping-or stabilizing process to the spin-finish is removed by forming the yarns into a sheet which is passed into a vat containing a solvent for the spin-finish. The sheet of yarns after thermal treatment-e.g. in an oven-may have spin-finish re-applied to them.
