A harness for assisting a baby to walk has a belt 1 separate from a crotch strap 2 and passing through a doubled over rear end 7 thereof, said rear end being separately supported by cords 4, 6 and movable along the belt 1 whereby the rear end of the crotch strap may be slid along the belt to centralise it in respect of the forward part after the length of the belt has been adjusted.
