Abstract

107,455. Parker, J. W. July 31, 1916. Angular bending; dies.-A die 1 for flanging metal plates, making angle-irons &c. has segmental blocks 5 which turn in their bearings during the operation. The work 6 is placed between the die 1 and an abutment 7 which are moved relatively by hydraulic or other means, for instance by a screw-actuated wedge 9, Fig. 2. The die may be modified for altering an angle-bar to an acute or obtuse angle as shown in Figs. 3, 8, parts 16, 19 of the die being cut away to allow the change in form. The blocks 5 may be retained by end plates 24 engaging by their slots 23 pins 22 on the ends of the blocks 5.
