Abstract

Mordenite or erionite is incorporated in a cracking catalyst prior to spray drying. Preparation may be conventional e.g. CO2 is bubbled into Na2SiO3 solution before adding Al2(SO4)3, precipitating Al2O3 and spray drying. Additionally the catalysts may contain SiO2-ZrO2, SiO2-MgO, SiO2-Al2O3-ZrO2, SiO2-Al2O3-MgO and natural clays. Physical properties of the catalyst e.g. surface area and pore volume are disclosed. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 998,053.
