Abstract

1,074,415. Aerials. L. J. CHU. Jan. 21, 1966 [Jan. 27, 1965], No. 2915/66. Heading H4A. In a dipole array comprising a parallel pair feeder from which the aerial elements extend transversely, some of the said elements are divided into segments by insulators, which are bridged by inductive loading loops.. Additionally, capacitative loading is provided at the outer ends of some of the elements by means of conductors extending longitudinally and preferably orthogonally therefrom towards the next adjacent elements of the array. In this way, the physical sizes of the elements for use at particular frequencies may be reduced. Tuning may be effected by varying the numbers, lengths and shapes of the capacitative loading conductors, and such an array may be adapted for operation as a log periodic array.
