Abstract

1,073,027. Tape recorder switching device. F. K. POUVA. Aug. 4, 1964, No. 31727/64. Heading G5R. A switching device for a miniature tape recorder comprises a switch operable by a rotatable knob and comprising two slides and two contact strips; one of the contact strips 12, Fig. 4, being provided with a recess 33 for guiding a lever arm 20 of a cam shaft for actuating a brake lever 18, a stop 34 for engaging a gear-wheel segment lever 21, and a pawl 35 for actuating a pressure application device for the tape. When the switch is in the stop position the lever 18 applies a brake to the feed spool; when the switch is in the record or playback positions the pawl 35 allows a pinch roller (not shown) to engage a capstan (not shown) and pressure members (not shown) to press the tape against a guide roller and a transducing head (not shown); when the switch is in the record position the movement of lever 21 rotates a gear 22 to cause rotation of a guide roller (not shown) to bring an erase magnet on the guide roller into contact with the tape. The switch knob is rotatable into one of three positions and is also displaceable along a slot provided in a control panel.
