In a disc brake a caliper housing 2 is formed of two halves 2a, 2b, each half being secured to a circular ring 3 secured to the stub axle and disposed around the outer periphery of the brake disc 1. A second caliper housing 7 may be provided diametrically opposite the housing 2. In an alternative embodiment (Fig. 3, not shown) a ring segment is substituted for the circular ring 3.
