1,071,977. Coastal protection. H. DANZ. March 23, 1966 [April 2, 1965], No. 12742/66. Heading E1H. A fence for coastal protection comprises upright supports (1), Figs. 1 and 2, (not shown) along a coastline and strips of plastics material (3), (4) interwoven between the supports. The overall height of the interwoven strips is less than the height of the supports and after deposition of sand or silt in front of the lower portions of the fence the strips are moved upwards. A wire mesh of perpendicular and horizontal wires may replace the supports. The strips of plastics material may be perforated if it is desired to let the wind through the structure.
