Abstract

In an electric circuit system for a building in which cables are contained in hollow skirtings of insulating material run along the bottom parts of walls, said skirtings being provided with openings on their front sides for leading out branch circuits, two skirtings 3, 4, along both sides of a partition wall are connected to one opening in a skirting 1, along an outer wall, via a junction member or T-piece 5, by means of a nipple (16), Figs. 2, 3. The skirtings may be of rectangular cross-seotion and be provided with longitudinal partitions for segregating different kinds of circuits. Lengths of skirting are joined together by sleeves 2, and elbows and end caps 18 are also provided. They may be fixed to the walls by wood screws (15), Fig. 7. The openings on the fronts of the skirtings are adapted to take nipples (10), Figs. 5, 6 which engage by a bayonet action and are retained by screws (11), Fig. 7. Cables in the skirtings are taken through ports (12) in the nipples (10) to plug contacts (13). Unused openings are blanked off with covers (6), Fig. 4.
