Abstract

1,071,056. Cupola furnaces. ESSO RESEARCH & ENGINEERING CO. Aug. 28, 1964 [Sept. 30, 1963], No. 38455/63. Heading F4B. A cupola furnace 1 has two burners 4 disposed horizontally and parallel to one another above the tuyeres 3 the centre lines of injection being equidistant from the cupola axis. The unobstructed flames produced each reach to the opposite wall and do not overlap each other. In a modification, Figs. 3 and 4 (not shown), the burners 4 are inclined downwardly.
