A mole plough is provided with a pilot mole 31 which is situated ahead of the main mole 25 and at a shallower depth the blade 30 of the pilot mole being connected by a link 35 with the blade 21 of the main mole. The depth of the main mole 25 is adjusted by a hydraulic ram 23.
