Abstract
1,069,701. Bottling. ALFA-LAVAL A.B. Feb. 3, 1966 [Feb. 4, 1965], No. 4781/66. Heading B8T. [Also in Division F1] Bottle &c. fillers (9), the Fig. (not shown), are supplied with milk &c. from a sterilizer (1) through a flow equalizing tank (3), air &c. under pressure from a compressor (4) passing through a constant pressure valve (6) and a sterilizing filter (10) to the space in the tank above the milk &c. as the level falls and escaping through valves (7, 8) as the level rises. The valve (7) is a steam trap, and the valve (8) is a throttling valve. Before the tank (3) &c. is put into use, it is filled with steam, to drive out air through the valves (7, 8) and to sterilize both the tank and the filter (10). The steam is shut off and the tank (3) cooled, to condense the steam. The compressor (4) then supplies air &c. through the filter (10) to the tank (3). Finally, milk &c. is fed into the tank (3) from the sterilizer (1).
