Abstract

1,068,958. Photographic developing apparatus. H. HUSS. Sept.30, 1964 [Sept. 30, 1963], No. 39792/64. Heading G2A. Photographic developing apparatus G comprises a light tight chamber containing two hemicylindrical bowls 7 tiltable about their common longitudinal axis and two or more drums 8 rotatable about this axis, each drum carrying a plurality of curved support members (11) Fig. 4 (not shown) for supporting emulsion carriers e.g. films to be developed. The bowls are filled with developing liquid from a container 3 by means of conduits 4 and control valves. The drums are then rotated in the bowls so that the liquid contained therein flows across the support members. After the films have been developed, the bowls are tilted to one side and the liquid contained therein flows through outlets 13 into conduits 14. The bowls are righted and filled with fixing salt solution through which the films are rotated as before. The fixing solution is poured off by tilting the bowls to the other side, the bowls being refilled with washing liquid from a chamber 2 when righted, through which liquid the films are rotated. The conduits 4, chamber 2 and lower part 12 are heated by a thermostatically controlled heater and heat circulating means WL. The members 11 may have holes at each end to create additional turbulence.
