Coffins.-A concrete casket for containing a coffin is provided with a metal cap 16 having a U-shaped flange 18, which is sprung into engagement with an inverted U-shaped flange 12 on the metal portion 11 of the body 10, the joint being sealed with solder. Concrete may be applied as a shell 13 to the metal portion 11 and as a cover 20 to the metal cap. The cap is supported, whilst being sprung into place, by cross-bearers 14 connected to longitudinals 15. A tongue-and-groove joint 21 may be provided between the body and cap, and the concrete may be reinforced.
