Abstract

A towelling knitting loom has weft thread guides shogged over a row of hooked needles and pressing fingers located over the row and lowerable below the row in order to bring the weft threads to a position below the row. The pressing fingers are carried on a common carrier with the weft thread guides which is lowered to operate the pressing fingers and the weft thread guides being shorter so that during pressing they remain above the needle row. Weft thread guides of different groups may be alternately located on the bar and a pressing finger between each alternate guide of different groups.
